Riot Gears Up for Arcane; Big Changes in LoL and Events Inbound

Developers at Riot Games are preparing a lot of surprises and interesting events related to the launch of the TV series Arcane. In addition, they also announce a lot of gameplay changes that will be introduced to League of Legends in the coming weeks.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Riot Games plans to celebrate the launch of the Arcane series, and announced a host of activities and events for League of Legends players;
  2. New missions will be added to the game, the completion of which will yield us cosmetic items and memorabilia associated with the series;
  3. Along with the events, significant changes in gameplay were announced, including new items and the mechanics of "rewards for achievements";
  4. In October alone, more than 180 million users played the game.

Premiere of Arcane, a TV series set in the League of Legends universe, is fast approaching. On this occasion, the MOBA from Riot Games will offer a lot of activities - both within the game itself and in the form of accompanying events.

On the occasion of Arcane's launch LoL will gain a lot of cosmetic elements, including skins for characters (including Jinx and Vi, who will appear in the TV series). The skins will be available on November 8 and for a short time we will be able to unlock them for free by completing special quests. There will be a lot of missions and they will be related to the TV series. Same goes for the whole map - with the debut of Arcane the game will gain visual and musical accents referring to Riot's production.

The developers are planning a series of events related to the series for November. RiotX Arcane, as that's the name under which they will be advertised, is divided into several themed parts, running from November 7 to 13 and from November 14 to 20.

2022 Pre-Season

The upcoming premiere of Arcane is also accompanied by significant gameplay changes that will appear in LoL to mark the end of this year's season. Along with the pre-season update, quite a few changes will be introduced to the game, including two new dragons to slay, fresh items in the item shop, or new runes.

However, the most interesting novelty seems to be the so-called "achievement rewards", which will give the matches a more perverse character:

"This feature provides the losing team with more strategic comeback options, enabling you to turn the tide of the battle by capturing objectives marked with rewards.

The catch? When activated, the targets are highlighted on the minimap for both teams. It's likely that the team on the roll will retain their lead, thus thwarting any attempts by their returning rivals to claim the prize."

If the lagging team manages to achieve their goal, they will receive extra gold.

It should also be mentioned that Riot's ambitious projects would not be possible if it were not for the unflagging popularity of their productions. On Twitter, Riot Games boasted that all games from the Rutenerra universe (LoL, Wild Rift, Legends of Rutenerra, Teamfight Tactics) were played by 180 million people in October alone.

Finally, let's remind - Twitch premiere of Arcane will take place on November 7. The pilot episode will be broadcasted by streamers from all over the world.
