Lost Ark Without National Tags on Servers; Dev Explains

According to one of the developers working on Lost Ark, individual servers will not get a name tag indicating which player nationality is the majority in each world.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. One of the developers working on Lost Ark revealed that the servers will not receive dedicated country tags;
  2. This decision is dictated by the fact that there is too little time before the launch to change this;
  3. It is possible that tags will come to the game at a later date.

Lost Ark will debut on the Western market in just over a week, and today we learned that players from Europe and the Americas will have to face a small, yet potentially unpleasant inconvenience.

Anti-national servers

A developer by the handle Roxx admitted on the forum dedicated to the game that both European and American servers will not have dedicated country tags.

  • Why is this important? The most important aspect is communication. MMORPG players from different nations often form communities on a given server.
  • The developer's explanation was that so close to the release the team working on the game does not want to make decisions deviating from the plan, but it is possible that tags will be introduced to the game in the future.

Roxx also shared a graphic showing which servers have the most players of each nationality:

Potential solutions

Players will have to put up with this hopefully temporary inconvenience. However, creative members of the Lost Ark community have shared ideas for other solutions to the communication problem.

  • Reddit user Bibihest suggested creating separate chats for players from different countries (for example: /pl, /de, /en, etc.), which could eliminate part of the problem.
  • Another suggestion from one of the Lost Ark forum users is to simply rename the individual servers to country names:

"Don't name [servers - ed.] Kadan, Wei, Asta or Trixton. Instead, give them names like English 1, English 2, Spain, France, Germany, etc."

For now, however, players will have to organize things on their own. Start of Lost Ark servers will take place on February 11, and maybe soon after that we will receive national tags.
