The final announcement from today's State of Play is a new fighting game from Arc System Works called Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.
To close out today’s PlayStation State of Play, Arc System Works, the studio known for the Guilty Gear series, announced Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a stylized fighting game featuring Marvel characters set in Japan. The trailer begins with Captain America and Iron Man conversing in Japanese and then reveals a Japanese-inspired Iron Man suit. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a four-versus-four tag-team fighting game, and it looks fantastic.
The characters featured in today’s trailer included the classic team leaders, Captain America and Iron Man, as well as Spider-Man, Storm, Dr. Doom, Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, and Ghost Rider. In the trailer, teams of four swap in and out, shifting the tide of battle and setting each other up for combos. This looks like it will be a great fighting game, capturing some of the same energy that Marvel Rivals did at the end of 2024 and into this year.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls was revealed to have a planned 2026 release year, so it will likely be some time before we learn more. At least from this trailer, the game looks great, so fingers crossed it’s early 2026. It’s easy to imagine many more Marvel characters will fill out the roster.
