Today, IO Interactive shared the first look at their upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light. We can expect to learn more in this Friday’s IO Interactive showcase after Summer Game Fest, but today we got a look at the newly cast Bond and the overall vibe of the game. The trailer didn’t appear to showcase much actual gameplay; instead, it focused on cutscenes.

First look at 007 First Light James Bond game from IO Interactive shown at State of Play

Based on the trailer, 007 First Light appears to have a much different style from IO’s previous Hitman titles. Rather than a silent protagonist lurking in the shadows, quietly assassinating people, this game will play more like the James Bond movies or the Uncharted series.

Unfortunately, this probably means fans of the Hitman series might not get the same style of gameplay with 007 First Light. On the other hand, however, this appears to be a promising single-player action adventure. From the name recognition alone, this is definitely a game to keep an eye on. I am looking forward to learning more about this game later this week, so stay tuned to Gamepressure for more information throughout Summer Game Fest.
