Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake in the Pipeline After All? More and More Indications

More and more indications have emerged suggesting that a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is in the making. This time their source is an actress known from one of the installments of this Konami series.

There is an increasing number of indications that Konami is preparing a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

  1. The latest reason for optimism was given to fans of the brand by Donna Burke, the actress whose voice we could hear in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
  2. Burke tweeted a photo purportedly from a recording session. In it, the actress holds a folder with a picture of a cat with an eye patch and the title Snake Eater.
  3. Such a photo by itself would not be enough to convince us that Konami is preparing a remake, but over the past several months there have been repeated leaks from various sources regarding this project.

The first reports about the return of the Metal Gear Solid brand appeared in October 2021. In turn, last year in a promotional video by Chinese studio Virtuos fans spotted an album with graphics from MGS3, leading some people to believe that this team might be the one working on the remake.

This year, too, there was no shortage of rumors regarding the project. In February, in a VGC podcast journalist Andy Robinson, who enjoys a good reputation, stated that, according to his sources, work was indeed underway on a refresh of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. What's more, for Konami, this project is supposed to be a test of interest in the brand, and if the game is successful, refreshed versions of other installments will also be created.

In turn, last month Andy Robinson informed that the remake's release has been postponed until 2024. According to the journalist, Konami intended to announce the project at this year's E3. The event was eventually canceled, but the Japanese publisher nevertheless allegedly plans to reveal the project in June.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that Konami has already announced a remake of Silent Hill 2. The company is clearly trying to remind the players of its most famous brands in the best installments, so a refresh of MGS3 seems a natural progression.
