Baldur's Gate 3 is still regularly updated, even a few months after its release. The changes are not cosmetic, either. The game receives major features and content alterations. One of the biggest news of patch 5, the recent one, is the fact that you don’t have to kill Minthara if you play a good character. Let’s talk about it.

Minthara in BG3 Patch 5 Can Be Hired, Maybe

If you are here, you probably don’t mind, but you are about to read some major spoilers. It’s your last chance to read our other content.

The recent patch 5 to BG3 is rich with quite substantial changes. A lot of attention was directed towards Minthara. One of the bosses from Act 1 or a recruitable companion (if you preferred to play not so heroic character).

The novelty, which is especially popular among fans is connected to one of patch notes lines: “Minthara will still appear at Moonrise Towers if she was knocked out in Act I”. For those who don’t know, this location is the place where you can recruit her to your party for good. Until now, she didn’t appear there, if you decided to fight her.

All the above may be a sign that even good characters can travel with Minthara from now on, however, we cannot be sure until the first players complete the playthrough and check. Because at the same time, it may be just a way to connect some loopholes in the plot (“where is Minthara if I didn’t kill her”), and not a way to recruit her. Nevertheless, if you want to check it yourselves, don’t forget to change your weapon mode on non-lethal.
