Alan Wake 2 will make use of both ray tracing and the DLSS 3.5 technology, and Nvidia has released a gameplay showing off their features.
Two days before the release of Alan Wake 2 Nvidia has released an extensive video discussing the features that the ray tracing and DLSS 3.5 with ray reconstruction technologies used by Remedy Entertainment will bring to the game.
Ray tracing will not only provide realistic lighting and shadows, but also reflections - including in puddles or on glass surfaces. The DLSS 3.5 technology with ray reconstruction will improve the appearance of the game, as well as significantly increase the displayed frame rate. Nvidia argues that with DLSS 3.5 the value of the latter indicator can increase by up to nearly... 500%. Probably this will be of significant importance in the context of the game's alarmingly high system requirements.
How the aforementioned features will work out in practice, we will find out soon. Alan Wake 2 will launch on October 27 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. We will read the first reviews of the game tomorrow at 6 a.m. PST.
