New Ghost Recon Probably Won't be Released Anytime Soon

Credible reports have emerged about the release date of the next installment of Ghost Recon. Unfortunately, it does not look like it's going to be a swift debut.

We have bad news for fans of Ghost Recon. If rumors are to be believed, we will have to wait a lot longer for the next installment of the series.

  1. According to the latest reports, the release of the next part of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon is planned only for 2025.
  2. The source of these rumors is the reputable leaker Tom Henderson.

Recall that last year was a very turbulent one for the brand. First, in April the devs announced the end of development of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. The game was considered a flop, but Ubisoft poured 2.5 years into trying to resurrect it. It didn't quite make it, and along the way the developers suffered a big blunder trying to sell NFTs, but overall they managed to improve the game's technical condition.

In turn, in July 2022 we learned about the cancelation of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Frontline, a F2P spin-off. This project was plagued with many problems and the development was rebooted once, but ultimately nothing came of it.

Last year there were also reports that Ubisoft is working on a new main installment of Ghost Recon. At least three years seems a realistic period for the development of such a game, so reports of a planned release in 2025 sound reasonable.

The publisher is unlikely to rush. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint was one of the biggest disappointments in Ubisoft's output, so the next installment in the series will have to save the reputation of the entire brand.
