Tent Glitch is a New Issue in New World's PvP

New World already featured gold duping and false reporting „cheaters” from rival camps, but tent warfare is a whole new way to gain an edge in PvP clashes.

After its successful debut, New World fell out of favor as one of the biggest or even the biggest release of 2021. Unfortunately, in the months that followed, Amazon Games' title became infamous for a string of problems plagueing the game. One of the more recent bugs enables us to neutralize enemies with "hungry" tents.

No, it's not a strange sub-species of the infamous mimic, but an exploit used during battles for influence in the Restless Shore military camp. As the report on the game's official forum reads, players can set up a minimum level 2 camp in front of each gate. If someone tries to leave such a "fortified" place, they will be forced to enter a tent.

The good news is that such a player will not be trapped or killed (at least not directly). He can still crawl out of the tent or type the /stuck command to leave the "shelter". Only that it takes a long time and delays the offensive considerably, breaking up the attacking forces. Let's already leave aside the "minor" fact that opponents can easily focus on knocking out players who are stuck in the tent. It's easy to guess how much of an advantage this gives in party battles.

Unfortunately, the Internet user didn't attach a video showing how the exploit works - we can only see screenshots and videos showing players bypassing the camp exits with a persistence worthy of a better cause.

Fortunately, the developers can remove this exploit in a very simple way. It's enough that the war camps are flagged as landmarks. The game doesn't enable us to set up tents inside of them. The alternative would be to destroy enemy camps.

If only this exploit was the only problem with PvP and New World in general...
