No More TikTok for US Citizens as Donald Trump Keeps His Word

Donald Trump's regulation to prevent Americans from further downloading of TikTok and WeChat applications will come into force this Sunday. The information was confirmed by the administration of the current US President.

Trump sums up his four years in power.

On August 6, 2020, Donald Trump gave a direct order to get rid of the influence of TikTok and WeChat applications from the United States. The regulations are mainly related to a ban on any transactions between American companies and representatives of Chinese corporations representing the above brands. The US administration announced that 45 days are needed before the changes come into force. New York Times reports of the government's final decisions - the ban of the apps will indeed take place and it will happen tomorrow, on Sunday.

The implementation of the directives will take some time, and the whole process has been divided into two stages. The first one will take place on September 20 2020. It won't prevent the full use of the apps yet, but only remove them from Google Play and Apple Store, so no matter if we have Android or iOS devices - downloading TikTok and WeChat will no longer be possible in the USA.

This picture will only remain a sad memory for the Americans.

The actual plan to eliminate these programs is to be reflected on November 12 2020. Then they will cease to work, and the people of the United States will have to work hard if they want to remain active in these social networks.

The TikTok ban worries not only the Americans themselves, who deal with the application on a daily basis, but also Western companies. Admittedly, they have been given dozens of days to prepare for possible financial losses, but it is difficult to prepare for the consequences of such an unprecedented situation. Let the words of the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Wilbur Ross (via NewYorkTimes), be used as a summary:

"These actions prove once again that President Trump will do everything he can to guarantee national security and protect Americans from the threats of the Chinese Communist Party".
