The remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has been a hot topic for a while, and it is reportedly very close to release. We still haven't received confirmation of the game's existence, but further rumors and leaks suggest that it's almost sure. All the more so, now that another well-known person in the gaming industry has spoken out about it (via Insider Gaming).
Jeff Grubb, a journalist and insider, addressed the claim in the GameBreaking News section of the latest video on the Giant Bomb channel that an Oblivion remake was supposed to be released in the next few weeks. He admitted that from the information he possesses, it appears that the game will be released later this month.
This would be consistent with the message that user Detective Seeds posted on X the day before. He stated that many of his sources have already confirmed the release window for the Oblivion remake, set for the week beginning on April 21st. This is supposed to happen after the anniversary event in The Elder Scrolls Online. He stated that he is "very confident" in what he says.
Recently, all trailers were removed from the Steam page of the Oblivion Deluxe version, which might also hint at an upcoming announcement.
According to earlier rumors, the Oblivion remake is supposed to be developed on the Unreal Engine 5, and Virtuos Games studio is responsible for its creation. The title aims to bring many changes to the core game systems, including strength, stealth, and archery.
It should also be noted that everything mentioned above is just industry rumor. So we cannot be sure about that until the news are officially confirmed.
