For some time now, there have been rumors online about a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, reportedly being handled by Virtuos Games studio. The players believed that the title would be revealed during the Xbox Developer Direct show, but ultimately it didn't happen. Now there are new reports about the game, indicating that the it will be released soon.

A well-known industry insider, NateTheHate, reported on X that the Oblivion remake is set to be revealed in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the launch of the game will take place before June.

Either this month or next month. Release is likely to be sooner than the original June target; but still working to get details on an updated release date.

The information about the game reveal was confirmed by its source, VGC. Nonetheless, he concluded that the launch of the refreshed Oblivion might occur even sooner, possibly as early as next month.

According to recent rumors, the Oblivion remake is being developed on the Unreal Engine 5. The title is set to introduce quite a lot of changes to the basic game systems, such as strength, stealth, blocking, and archery. The HUD is also set to be thoroughly revamped.

However, we emphasize that everything mentioned above is just industry rumor. So we shouldn't take them for granted until we receive confirmation from Bethesda.

The rumor, however, doesn't concern the fan-made remake of Oblivion, which has been under development for several years using the Skyrim engine. The creators of Skyblivion recently announced that they have developed the entire map of Cyrodill, and the launch of the modification is planned for this year. So if the reports about the official remake aren't confirmed, fans of the fourth TES still have something to look forward to.
