Parting ways with Obsidian will likely have tragic consequences for Armored Warfare’s popularity in the West.

Although the official announcement has all the required courtesies – Obsidian say they are “happy to hand off Armored Warfare to the talented developers at”, while the publisher is “grateful for all contributions made by everyone on the Armored Warfare development” – it is hard not to sense a sort of disagreement between the two parties. Back in December 2016 took some of the work from Obsidian, which already gave an impression that something may have not been exactly right there.

Moreover, the recent entry by the moderator of Armored Warfare’s official Reddit thread sheds some more light on the matter. He also adds that the company focused primarily on the Russian market and didn’t care much for the game’s quality, which resulted in the drop in the game’s popularity in the West.
