PC port of Mortal Kombat 11 will be developed by QLOC
The PC port of Mortal Kombat 11 will be developed by QLOC, a Polish developer responsible for the PC version of Mortal Kombat XL.
Paulo Garcia, the lead designer of Mortal Kombat 11, revealed in an interview for PC Gamer that the PC port of the game is being created by an experienced Polish team at QLOC. At the same time, the developer promises that he port will be of much better quality than in the case of Mortal Kombat X (High Voltage Software was responsible for the PC version, and the players complained about bugs, bad optimization and crashes).
"The people that did the XL version of Mortal Kombat X, where it was dramatically improved, they're doing this version also," says Paulo Garcia. "And because they've been working with our code engine for the past three years, they've actually become a lot faster."
Warsaw-based QLOC has prepared PC ports of many high-profile titles, such as DMC Devil May Cry, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen or Dark Souls: Remastered. The team also created ports for the last fighting game from NetherRealm Studios – Injustice 2 – and the refurbished version of Mortal Kombat X (XL), all of which were good and successful, working well even on older hardware. It should be expected that it will be similar in this case, especially taking into account the already known hardware requirements of the game.
Mortal Kombat 11 will debut on April 23 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A version on Nintendo Switch is also planned, which is likely to be released at a later date. It is also worth mentioning that on March 28 the game’s beta-tests will start – in order to take part in them, you need to make a pre-order (which will net us Shao Khan as a bonus character). Unfortunately, the beta will be available only for PS4 and Xbox One (PC is omitted).
