Planetary Landing available now in Elite: Dangerous - Horizons Beta

Elite: Dangerous received a Beta version of Horizons DLC pack. Planetary Landings is the first portion of the expansions program, which will be officially released later this month.

After a short delay, Elite: Dangerous received the Horizons Beta yesterday. The first DLC pack for the newest space sim from David Braben introduces Planetary Landing, which means players can fly to and land on the surfaces of planets and moons, such as Europa, one of the Jupiter’s moon presented on the video below. In order to participate in beta, you have to head over to the game’s official store and pick a pack worth $74.99. On the other hand, simply pre-ordering the Horizons pack costs $59.99, but it means waiting for the full release slated for Holiday 2015.

For a limited time all owners of Elite: Dangerous can get a L10 for Horizons plus an exclusive ship. The game is also available for 67% off the original price for a few more hours until December 1st, 6 PM GMT / 10 AM PST.

Horizons, or as the developers like to call it ‘Season 2’, works only on 64 bit systems. Apart from Planetary Landings, the pack will also introduce such features as multi-crew ships, a character creator, and more.
