Ubisoft made tge gamers wait for a long time for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake. After a change of developers, the reboot of the project and the lack of announcements about it, a large group of people may have forgotten that the title is in development at all. Fortunately, Ubisoft decided to break the silence and on the occasion of the twentieth birthday of the original Sands of Time, the company announced that the Remake had reached an important milestone.

On the profile of Prince of Persia on Twitter/X , the devs published a post celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. On the occasion, it was informed, that the remake has passed an important milestone.

"As you know, the passionate team at Ubisoft Montreal is developing the remake of this legendary story, and we are pleased to announce that the project has passed an important internal milestone and the work is progressing. We look forward to sharing more information in the future!"

Unfortunately, it's unclear what specific milestone is involved, but it's good to know that work on the adventure of dagger-wielding prince is progressing, although players are certainly waiting for more details.

For now, the upcoming installment will debut on January 18 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles. The work in question isPrince of Persia: The Lost Crown and it will be a 2.5D platformer.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is now 20 years old

The first release of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time came out on November 18, 2003 for the PS2. Later, the game lived to see release on Xbox, PC, Game Cube and even Game Boy Advance, although in the latter case, because of the console, the game looks quite different.

In those days the title was full of innovations and delighted the players with its spacious rooms, visuals and, above all, the smoothness of the main character's movements.. Combat was also an important aspect, and overcoming obstacles and exploring locations was a pleasure in itself.
