A remaster of Quake 2 has gone on sale, plus Bethesda has released new free content for the refreshed Quake 1 and announced a contest in which a Steam Deck is up for grabs.
Today we informed about reports on the release of a refreshed version of Quake 2. As it turned out, suspicions of insider billbil-kun were true. Quake 2 is now available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG), Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S (also in Game Pass), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch for around $8.99.
Along with the announcement and release of Quake 2 the developers provided details about the content, fixes and improvements the game received on PCs. The refreshed edition of the game:
A full list of all the new features introduced can be found on Steam. It should also be noted that players who own the original game will get the remaster for free.
It is worth mentioning that on the occasion of the launch of QuakeCon, the organizers have prepared a game for the participants in which you can win a Steam Deck (512 GB).
To participate in this competition, you must be at least 18 years of age, start following the QuakeCon account on X (former Twitter) and share the organizers' post. More details about the competition can be found here.

We should also mention a DLC for Quake lached. We recently received a message from Bethesda, which announced fresh, free content for the first installment of the FPS series.
Those interested can download the free DLC directly from the game's main menu - if they own it.
