Microsoft Broke RDR2 on Windows 11

A recent Windows 11 update caused Red Dead Redemption 2 to stop working. Efforts are currently underway to determine the source of the problem.

Red Dead Redemption 2 owners, who operate on Windows 11, have not had it easy in recent days. A recent update to the OS, designated KB5023774, has caused those using the 21H2 release to lose the ability to play the title from Rockstar Games.

According to a bug report posted on Microsoft's website, players using Windows 11 21H2 may have trouble when trying to run Red Dead Redemption 2. The issues manifest themselves in a rather simple way - pressing the "Play" button in the Rockstar Games Launcher (that is, the application required for the game to run) has no effect.

It must be admitted that this is a rather bothersome issue, even if it only affects those operating on the previous version of W11. As if this were not enough, at this point there is no sure solution for it. As a temporary workaround to the problem, Microsoft proposes upgrading Windows to version 22H2. At the same time, it was stressed that the source of the bug is being determined. As soon as it is detected, an announcement will be published.
