Remnant 2 - Ford Bug Explained

In the action RPG Remnant 2, humanity mounts a counteroffensive against Root, an alien force trying to destroy our civilization. Interactions with NPCs are important for advancing the story, but some players have been unable to get too far. Fans report getting stuck in the Tutorial because they cannot talk to Ford. We explain the bug in detail below.

Remnant 2- Ford bug explained

Ford in Remnant 2 can be easily recognized as an elderly man with white hair and a beard. He usually appears in his office in Ward 13, which he is the founder of. However, during the Tutorial mission, one of the objectives is to talk to Ford by the Gate. If you are at that point in the game and he is still in his office, it’s likely not your fault. Many players have encountered a bug where the NPC does not move from his original spot, which makes this task impossible to complete. Here is what you can do about it.

Ford bug in Remnant 2 – Possible fixes

1. Make sure you have talked to Brabus, McCabe, Rigs and Wallace first,
2. Try resetting your game. One reset may not suffice, but resetting several times has worked for some fans,
3. If all else fails, create a new character in Slot 2, as the bug appears to only affect characters in slot 1.

Unfortunately, no foolproof method of fixing this bug is known at this point. Creating a new character is an extreme and inconvenient solution, and players may be unwilling to resort to it. Do not give up and try resetting first. However, in the worst-case scenario, you can keep your first character as you play with the second one and wait for a patch or an official response to the bug. As the issue can be considered game-breaking, the developers will likely address it soon.
