Alert From Rust Now in Your Home; New Features of June Update

June brings another update to Rust. New features have also appeared in the mobile app Rust+. With IFTTT support, an in-game trigger can now set off a real home alarm.

Rust is a survival game focused on crafting and cooperation (or not) of players from all over the world, developed by Facepunch Studios. The game is accompanied by a special app, called Rust+, which enables players to supervise their buildings when they don't have access to a computer. It enables players to execute simple instructions, control triggers, and communicate with other players. Both Rust and the supporting app receive regular updates. The June patch, in addition to many new features in the game itself, adds support for IFTTT in Rust, making it quite interesting for players.

IFTTT goes beyond boundaries

IFTTT (If This Then That) is a service that enables us to execute automated commands between different applications and devices, as it is supported by many home automation systems. I think I see those little light bulbs light up above some of your heads. Yes, you are right, now nothing stands in the way of the alarm in our real-life house informing us about a raid on our in-game safehouse..

Or maybe you could set the a button in the game to order a pizza with home delivery?? As you can see, much depends on the creativity of players, and the implementation of such ideas requires the installation of appropriate modules in the game (e.g. SmartButton). It is also necessary to create an account in the IFTTT service and link applications. Currently, the system only works in the PC version of the game; Rust's console version does not support this feature.

Game Fixes

The June update replaces the animal models with more realistic and detailed ones (fur). There is also a better organization of the contact list. It is now possible to tag a user according to their attitude. Set up flags are visible through binoculars, which will allow beginners (or pacifist) players to avoid the more aggressive users who like to attack others. The update also includes many smaller improvements, such as new staircase models, triangular building bases, electrical connection colors and improvements to video recording.
