Ryzen 3000 Clocks at 4.5 GHz, Leaks on X570 Motherboards

TechSpot reports that motherboard manufacturers have received test copies of Ryzen 3000 processors. The units are to be clocked at 4.5 GHz and have about 15% better performance than the previous generation. We also have leaks about the X570 chipset.

More leaks about the new generation of Ryzen processors.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. Test Ryzen 3000 processors are clocked at 4.5 GHz;
  2. The units are reportedly 15% faster than the Ryzen 2000 series;
  3. motherboards based on the X570 chipset will have 40 PCIe 4.0 lines, but some of them will be used by SATA connectors.

TechSpot reports that the test units of Ryzen 3000 processors - currently being sent to motherboard manufacturers - boast a 4.5 GHz clock and 15% better performance than the Ryzen 2000 series. Unfortunately, the leak does not specify the CPU model - we only know that it is a 4-8-core unit, which is probably one of the weaker models (the stronger ones are supposed to have 12 or even 16 cores).

We would like to remind you that the CPU in question are manufactured in 7nm lithography, thanks to which they are supposed to operate at low temperatures and feature "impressive power efficiency". AMD designers also made numerous improvements in their construction (including memory controller and instruction pre-fetching, which is a technology responsible for the possibility of preliminary downloading of instructions), thanks to which it was possible to achieve a solid increase in IPC (instruction per clock - the number of operations per clock cycle).

There are also a few rumors about the new X570 chipsets, which are to debut with Ryzen 3000 processors. As you know, this type of motherboards will support the PCIe 4.0 technology - the platform will offer as much as 40 PCI Express lines, but some of them will be distributed between SATA connectors. We also get a lot of USB ports - 4 in 2.0 format and up to 8 USB 3.1 Gen 2.

The leak appears to be reasonable and reliable - according to previous reports, the Ryzen 3000 CPU was 15% faster than the Ryzen 2700X in the Cinebench test. Nevertheless, it is worth remembering that we are still dealing with unconfirmed rumors, which should be treated with a reasonable degree of caution.
