Sailor Moon Dark Souls Edition, FromSoftware meets Usagi Tsukino in this fan creation

We've seen some wild crossovers, but this one might be the next big thing. Imagine Sailor Moon characters in a dark fantasy world inspired by Elden Ring.

What if Chaos and its minions had overpowered Queen Serenity and seized control of the Moon Kingdom? While these grim events never unfolded in the Sailor Moon series, one dedicated fan has brought this chilling yet stunningly crafted scenario to life using Unreal Engine 5, reimagining the universe in the style of a FromSoftware game.

Tarnished and the Moon Prism Power

Yes, you read that right – every vibrant Sailor Moon character has been refashioned in a concept game that feels like Elden Ring or Demon’s Souls, stripped of their glittery sweetness. 3D artist Eugenia Lysa developed Twilight of the Moon Kingdom, a personal project that envisions what a dark fantasy RPG set in the Sailor Moon universe could look like. Just a side note, this is purely a fan creation and not associated with any official IPs.

In her recent video, Eugenia gives us a glimpse of the ruins of Silver Millennium, featuring beautifully crafted statues of all the Sailor guardians and even a boss encounter, The Lamenting Chimera, a corrupted form of Luna and Artemis. While we don’t get to see the actual fight, the concept art of this creature is absolutely incredible.

Although we’ll likely never get the chance to play this unofficial Sailor Moon adventure, we can still keep an eye out for Eugenia’s next work. She might post a Q&A video about the making of this project soon, or we can follow her on X. In the meantime, we can always enjoy some classic Sailor Moon games, like Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon R, or Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Another Story – my absolute favorite!

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
