In April this year, horror fans can look forward to a new spectacle. Universal has released the trailer for Abigail, which gives a closer look at the nightmare that awaits a group of kidnappers. Kidnapped teenage daughter of an influential underworld figure turns out to be a vampire and, as she herself says, "likes to play with her food."

The trailer reveals that we will not be dealing with a fully serious production and the characters trapped with a supernatural enemy often make funny comments describing the situation they find themselves in. At the same time, they will be forced to constantly fight for survival (vide Bingefire).

Abigail was created by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The gentlemen were recently responsible for the very well-received Scream VI, which may suggest that we will receive a successful production this time as well. The role of one of the kidnappers is played by Melissa Barrera, who also appeared in the aforementioned Scream, and the organizer of the kidnapping is played by Giancarlo Esposito.

Abigail will premiere exclusively in theaters on April 19, this year. In addition to Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, other members of Scream cast worked on the movie, including producers William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, James Vanderbilt and Chad Vilella.
