The latest Arx Riders playtest is over. Many players are interested in this title but some of them are not eager to run PvP game. Are there other modes? Can we play PvE only or even solo? Let’s find out.
Do you remember The Finals? While the game does not attract over 100 000 concurrent players every day anymore, it still is far from being forgotten (via SteamDB). It seems that developers from Embark Studios are at it again. Their newest production is called Arc Raiders and it is an extraction shooter. We are fresh after its closed playtest so, of course, players have questions about crossplay or single player / coop content. Let’s address the latter. Can you play solo or PvE?
It depends on what do you mean by “solo”. If you hope that Arc Raider has a single player mode, I have bad news for you, as at this point it does not feature it. Developers did not announce any plans to implement it, either. So, there is a high chance that the game will remain multiplayer only.
However, if you are thinking about solo lobbies, then there is hope. At this point Arc Raiders support playing solo as well as in 2 and 3- person squads. Moreover, while there are no special indicators, people who took part in the recent tests inform that solo players tend to be grouped together. So, while you still combat others, the fight should be (at least theoretically) fair. On the other hand, teams with two and three people are dropped together on the same maps.
Some players don’t like PvP. I totally understand that, as I play mostly single players or coop games. So, is PvE only mode possible in Arc Raiders?
Many people have fond memories of AC Raiders Reveal Trailer showed on The Game Awards 2021. If we look at it, it seems quite obvious that the game was initially planned as a coop, PvE experience. However, the idea has apparently changed. Now, Arc Raiders have only PvPvE mode and developers do not mention PvE only at all.
While reading this news, you have to remember that the game has not been released yet. So, a lot of things can change, especially based on players’ feedback. So, keep that in mind! If you want to learn something more about the game, the best place to do it right now is probably the official Discord channel.
