ARC Raiders

ARC Raiders was developed by Embark Studios, founded in 2018 by, among others, former members of EA DICE (including Patrick Söderlund, long-time president of that company), previously working on games in the Battlefield and Star Wars: Battlefront series. This production, available in the free-to-play model, stands out for its strong focus on "creative" cooperation of players in the fight against artificial intelligence.

Plot

In the game world the Earth is constantly attacked by deadly machines - ARC - coming from orbit. Among the ruins of ancient civilization, the remnants of humanity hide, forming a guerrilla group that resists the heartless invaders. In this post-apocalyptic environment we enter this uneven fight as one of the soldiers of the resistance (Raiders).

Game mechanics

The gameplay is based on cooperation between a group of players in an open world. We observe the action from the third person perspective. With the help of weapons (also those requiring several operators), tools, useful gadgets and even elements of the environment we have to defeat murderous machines - both hordes of smaller robots and bosses (huge "barons" or "queens"). Many items useful in combat can be found among the ruins of the old world, sometimes it may also be necessary to collect the equipment of fallen comrades.
