New Game From the Acclaimed SteamWorld Series is in the Works

The highly rated SteamWorld series will get a new installment. The news was announced by Image & Form, the studio responsible for the franchise, also announcing that the team wants to hire two new 2D artists.

The latest part of the franchise remains last year's RPG SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech.

We have good news for fans of the excellent SteamWorld series. Swedish studio Image & Form responsible for its development, announced that it is working on a new installment of the series. Unfortunately, we did not get to know the title of the project. We don't even know what kind of genre it will belong to.

Currently the team is looking for two additional artists specializing in 2D graphics to help with the new game.

Let us recall that the franchise was launched in 2010 by SteamWorld Tower Defense. The game was followed by SteamWorld Dig (2013), SteamWorld Heist (2015), SteamWorld Dig 2 (2017) and last year's SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech.

So far, the series has included a tower defense strategy game, two metroidvania platformers, a turn-based battle game and an RPG. We are curious what genre the latest project from Image &Form will belong to.
