Heart Events in Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life
While strengthening a bond with a character, you will gain a Heart after a certain threshold. This Heart is necessary for triggering a Heart Event. Since there are 4 Hearts in total to gain for one NPC, there are 4 Heart Events to be unlocked and played through. Those events are not required for marriage though, so there is no necessity to hunt for them and triggering at all costs.
Similar interaction can be found between 2 marriage candidates. Those are called Rival Events and in previous games of the series it could lead to those characters becoming married.
Activating Heart Events in Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life
As already mentioned, the first condition for those events to happen is gaining a Heart Point for the chosen marriage candidate. To strengthen the bond and eventually gain a Heart Point, talk with the character a lot, and provide them with gifts. The progress can be seen on the Heart Meter. After filling it up, you will receive a Heart Point.
Triggering the Heart Event is not a straightforward task though as every character has their own specific time and spot in Town that starts the event. Both of those conditions have to be satisfied for it to happen.
Getting married is a part of Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life main plot, so it will have to be done at some point to move story forward. Refusing to get married will result in your avatar leaving Forgotten Valley and ending the game prematurely.
