A demo of the promising strategy game Cataclismo was released on Steam. We also learned the game's release date.
We have learned the release date of Cataclismo, a promising city builder developed by the Spanish studio Digital Sun Games, known for Moonlighter and The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story.
On the occasion of the premiere date announcement, the developers also released a new trailer, which you can watch below.
Cataclismo is a strategy that combines elements of city builder and tower defense. The story takes place in a fantasy world following the titular cataclysm. We spend our day collecting resources, expanding the fortress, building traps, and positioning the army. However, at night we must fend off the attacks of hordes of monsters.
The full version of the game is set to offer a highly flexible building system, within which most structures will be constructed from large bricks, much like LEGO blocks. Furthermore, there will be an elaborate physics engine responsible for, among other things, destruction. As a result, for instance, during a wall collapse, the falling rubble will be able to kill units that it buries.
Cataclismo will offer a story campaign that is expected to last about 30 hours. We will also have the opportunity to engage in survival mode, where we will confront never-ending waves of enemies, and to assess our abilities in skirmish mode, which provides inventive maps. There will also be a creative mode where we can peacefully focus on building without having to fight monsters.
It's also worth mentioning the system requirements. So far, the developers have only provided the minimum ones.
