  5. Additional AI character (Sun Tzu);
  6. Skirmish Trail #1 pack, with additional missions, units and commanders.

More than two weeks have passed since the release of Stronghold: Warlords. Firefly, the studio responsible for the project, decided that it's time to reveal the game's roadmap for the coming months. For now, the devs revealed what changes and innovations we can expect during the rest of spring and early summer.

The developers are planning to release both small and large updates. The first category includes patches focused on improving the basic elements of gameplay. We can expect a new, extreme difficulty mode, improved AI, additional maps and changes to increase the game's stability. In addition, invasions will finally appear in the free build mode.

The first of these small updates is to be released later this week, but so far it is not known what it will offer. In parallel, the developers are also working on major updates. They will offer, among others, a new AI-controlled character (Sun Tzu) with a unique castle design and the so-called Skirmish Trail #1, which is a pack including ten additional missions, a new playable unit and two commanders. The release of these big patches is also planned for the coming months.

Firefly Studios will not finish development of the game in the summer. Stronghold: Warlords will be expanded and improved for a long time, but for now the developers are not ready to provide any details.

Stronghold: Warlords was released on March 9 and is available exclusively on PC. The game met with a mixed reception and has an average rating of 68% on Metacritic. On Steam, only 63% of user reviews are positive.
