There are a lot of old games offering top-notch story layer, but due to their visuals or gameplay mechanics not being up to modern standards they escape the attention of the players. One such title is System Shock, which had its premiere in 1994. It has been known for a long time that a remake of this game is being developed, but Nightdive Studios, responsible for the project, has relatively rarely shared information about the game. The situation changed during gamescom 2022, with the refreshed System Shock receiving an action-packed trailer, which looks really good.

System Shock trailer

The trailer begins with a short monologue by Shodan - the AI that has taken over the Citadel station. The trailer has no shortage of action and the characteristic dark atmosphere known from the original. In the game the player will come to use various tools and solutions to get rid of the hostile AI once and for all. All those interested in the refreshed System Shock are invited you to watch the trailer.

Pre-orders

You can now make a pre-order on Steam, although it is worth noting at this point that it is not yet known when the game will be released. In the same store you can also download a free demo and check how the game presents itself on your PC. We are unlikely to have to wait very long for the debut of the refreshed version, as already in March Larry Kuperman of Nightdive Studios claimed that work on the game is on the finale stretch.

Finally, here's another interesting fact. The Lightning Cosplay duo decided to advertise the game at Gamescom. The effect is most impressive!
