Test Drive Unlimited 2 Fans Resurrect Multiplayer Mode

A group of Test Drive Unlimited 2 fans have developed a modification called Project Paradise 2 that brings back multiplayer to the game. Multiplayer gameplay has not been available for years due to the shutdown of official servers.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 is warmly remembered by many players. Until recently, many lovers of racing games had to be we satisfied with that. After all, the game was withdrawn from digital sales, and the servers were closed many years ago. Fortunately, a group of fans did not give up and released a modification called Project Paradise 2, which brings back online mode in TDU2.

The first version of the mod was released in late April this year. The day before yesterday an updated edition was released and the whole thing was moved to better servers.

The mod restores full multiplayer functionality to the game. Not only does it enable us to play on fan servers, but it also recreates all the networking elements offered by TDU2, including leaderboards, friend lists and the community racing center. It is worth mentioning that this is not the first project of this type. Previously we've seen the release of TDU World, but this modification lacks many online features.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 was released in February 2011 on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and the game sold below expectations.

In 2016, the rights to the brand were acquired by Bigben Interactive. A few years later, a sequel was announced, titled Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown. The game is coming to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 and will be released on September 22, 2022.
