Google has unveiled Immersive Stream for Games, a system that will enable other companies to create their own game streaming services.
Google has presented the Immersive Stream for Games, which will enable other companies to offer their own cloud gaming services. The system is based on technology developed for Google Stadia.
Already last year we received a taste of such cooperation, when AT&T made available a streaming version of Batman: Arkham Knight, basing the whole operation on the foundations of Google's technology. Now these solutions have been simply systematized into a fully commercial product and branded as Immersive Stream for Games.
Google wants to make it easy for any company to create their own game streaming platform. Stadia hasn't been a huge success, but the technology that powers it was refined and offers high-quality gameplay through the cloud, so the offering may be met with interest.
Immersive Stream for Games will offer partners features such as:
Improvements are also planned for Google Stadia itself. Soon all developers with games on this service will be able to share trial versions. What's more, you won't need a Google account to check out the games this way. The first game, which you can try this way, is Risk of Rain 2.
