The Elder Scrolls Online High Isle Expansion Launches [UPDATED]

Today will see the debut of TESO: High Isle, a new expansion for the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online.

UPDATE: The DLC has officially debuted and although there were various problems on American servers, which forced their shutdown (and apparently this issue persists), the expansion has been received positively.

Today marks the market debut of The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle, the newest expansion for the popular MMORPG.

  1. Today, the DLC will hit only PC and Google Stadia
  2. For PS4, XONE, PS5 and XSX releases we will wait until June 21, 2022;
  3. The game will be unlocked on Steam around 7 am PT;
  4. This is a non-standalone DLC, so the base game is required to play.

The expansion promises to be rich. TESO: High Isle will introduce to the game new locations, in the form of two islands in the Systers Archipelago. While completing quests available in these places we'll meet two additional companions (female Khajiit Ember and female Breton Isobel). We will also be able to take part in a twelve-person co-op raid.

One of the most interesting novelties may be the addition of Tales of Tribute, a card game played by the inhabitants of The Elder Scrolls universe. The expansion will enable us to play games with NPCs or other players. Victories will result in valuable prizes, and some wins will unlock access to new story threads. Time will tell if this novelty will turn out to be something on par with Gwent.

The Elder Scrolls Online debuted in 2014 on PC, and a year later dedicated editions were released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Last year, the game lived to see Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 editions, which offer a lot of visual improvements compared to last-gen releases.

Despite being eight years old, the game still enjoys considerable popularity. At the hottest moment of the weekend on Steam The Elder Scrolls Online was played by almost 22,000 concurrent users. The activity figures will probably go up significantly after the release of the new DLC.
