The Walking Dead: Last Mile resembles Telltale Games' The Walking Dead series at first glance, but it's something completely different - a free interactive series where the entire community will make decisions.
The Walking Dead: Last Mile was announced at the beginning of March and even then it was callled an interactive event, not a video game. The premiere is scheduled for summer and it will proceed as planned - we'll participate in TWD:LM for free on Facebook starting July 11.
The idea for The Walking Dead: Last Mile is intriguing. The whole thing will take the form of a series of streams broadcast 24 hours a day, exclusively on Facebook Gaming and Facebook Watch. Viewers will make decisions about the fate of Alaskan community living in the universe of The Walking Dead by spending Influence Points at critical moments. A preview of the choices that will be faced collectively can be seen in the trailer below:
Influence Points are rewards for participating in activities that will be available throughout the event. Which means that by playing mini-games, you will earn points that you can use to vote on how the story will unfold in The Walking Dead: Last Mile.
It is not yet known how long this event will last; in any case, it promises to be quite interesting and innovative. Pipework Studios, Genvid Technologies and Skybound Entertainment are responsible for the game. The latter company is also the publisher of this experimental interactive series; it also owns the publishing rights to The Walking Dead created by Telltale Games.
