Hotfix for The Witcher 3 PC Now Available

CD Projekt Red has announced that it has released a hotfix for the PC version of The Witcher 3 to improve the performance of the next-gen update.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt after the next-gen update caused quite a few problems to owners of the PC version. Now CD Projekt RED has announced the release of a hotfix, which is expected to improve the game's performance and stability, as well as the functioning of overlays of platforms such as Steam and GOG.

PC gamers have reported a number of malfunctioning aspects, such as game freezes and low frame rates with ray tracing enabled. The small update in question is expected to improve this state of affairs.

As reported by Marcin Momot of CD Projekt Red, the patch takes up to 3 GB on Steam, and 1.9 GB on GOG.

At the same time, the devs informed about the introduction of the next gen version of The Witcher 3 to the EA App. Players have already managed to report that on Electronic Arts' platform, the hotfix cannot be downloaded.

The devs assured that they continue to work on improving the performance and stability of all available versions.

Even without today's hotfix The Witcher 3 after the facelift is performing really great, at least in terms of popularity - last weekend the seven-year-old game was played by more than 85,000 concurrent users on Steam alone. Solving the performance problems may improve this result even further.
