Michelle Yeoh Joins the Cast of The Witcher: Blood Origin

Netflix has announced that The Witcher: Blood Origin will feature actress Michelle Yeoh, known for Star Trek: Discovery and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, among others.

Netflix has revealed new information regarding The Witcher: Blood Origin, a six-episode limited series which is a prequel to The Witcher TV series. The streaming giant announced that Michelle Yeoh has joined the cast, her notable works being Star Trek: Discovery and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

In The Witcher: Blood Origin she will play the role of Scían, the last of a nomadic tribe of sword-wielding elves. In the series she will try to regain the sacred weapon taken from her people in despicable circumstances.

The show's executive producers will be Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and Declan de Barra, who will also serve as the showrunner. Andrzej Sapkowski will serve as creative consultant, while other executive producers will include Jason Brown and Hivemind's Sean Daniel, as well as Platige Films' Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko.

Let us remind that the action of Blood Origin will take place 1200 years before the events of The Witcher. The miniseries will tell the story of the origin and fate of the first Witcher and show the events that led to the Conjunction of Realms, resulting in the merging of the worlds of humans, monsters and elves.

Previously, Netflix revealed, among other things, the involvement of Laurence O'Fuarain as Fjalla of a clan of warriors sworn to protect the king. What we don't know is who will play the elfess Eile. Initially, Jodie Turner-Smith was to play her, but she had to give up the role due to complications with production schedules. Redanian Intelligence speculates that Sophia Brown may replace her.
