The Witcher's Nilfgaard Now in Civilization 6

The World of The Witcher mod for Civilization 6 is not slowing down. The collection has been expanded with a new faction. This time it is Nilfgaard.

Although it's been a while since the last update for the The World of The Witcher collection for Civilization 6 in Steam Workshop, the developer has not abandoned the project. Nilfgaard has joined the three previous factions.

Characteristics of Nilfgaard

I will point out at the outset that Nilfgaard is the most complex faction addeed by iPlayGamesITA to its collection so far. This is how the skills of Emhyr var Emreis and Jan Calveit, who command the Empire, look like.

  1. Emhyr "The White Flame Dancing on the Barrows of his Enemies" - Receives a Joyful Politics slot in any government. He gains the title of Governor when he captures an Original Capital or City-state, and +6 combat power for all units for each level of Nilfgaard Diplomatic Visibility against another civilization, instead of the usual +3 combat power.
  2. Jan "Nazairi Avenger" Calveit. - All cities not founded by Nilfgaard generate +2 science, +2 culture and +2 faith. Each time you first build a Campus, Cultural Quarter or one of your buildings, Great Personality points will be generated for a kill.
  3. Provincial Administration - Nilfgaard gains free Builders in conquered foreign cities. They can spend their charges to replenish 20% of Production costs in the Districts. Occupied cities have no penalty to yield, and Spies do not need time to establish their presence in the city.
  4. Nilfgaard Army - The Fire Scorpion, a siege machine from Zerrikania, is a very versatile weapon that replaces the Bombard, has three moves and can attack after a move in the same turn. The Nauzicaa Brigade is an expensive but powerful alternative to the Knights (although it does not replace them), and can attack twice if it has enough Movement points left.
  5. Engineers - Can establish Nilfgaard Imperial Camps in less than a week. This district replaces the Camp, and each building within it grants +2 science and +2 culture. It also grants +2 loyalty to the city and 25% more combat XP to units trained in the Nilfgaard Imperial Camp.

Five new city-states

In addition, along with Nilfgaard, five city-states also appeared in the game. They are Metinna, Maecht, Gemmera, Vicovaro and Tussaint, respectively. Their descriptions can be found below.

  1. Metinna - A military city-state. When we are its suzerain, it grants all light cavalry units trained in the city a permanent "Metinna Cavalry" ability, which gives them +4 combat strength. It then provides a free resource in the form of Wine.
  2. Maecht - religious city-state. Enables you to complete the "Fabricate a Scandal" spy mission 50% faster.
  3. Gemmera - military city-state. Provides +5 combat power to all units against Free Cities and +2 loyalty to cities with a garrison unit.
  4. Vicovaro - scientific city-state. Provides +2 science and +1 great scientist from all Universities, and units adjacent to the Campus district with a University heal fully within one turn.
  5. Toussaint - cultural city-state. Adds +3 culture from plantations with a luxury resource and an additional +2 if that luxury resource is wine.
