Ubisoft has officially announced Rainbow Six: Siege X, which is expected to be a „significant evolution” of the game. New features for Season 1 of the 10-year game were also revealed.
Yesterday, the Six Invitational tournament organized by Ubisoft ended, where big plans for the development of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege were revealed. Not only was the first season of year 10 announced, but a project called Siege X was also revealed, which is intended to keep the game on the market for another decade.
Unfortunately, we didn't learn much about Siege X, which, isn't a new title, but a very major update. First and foremost, we received a short teaser, which you can watch above, and we will learn more details on March 13, when it will be presented in all its glory. The director of R6, on the other hand, lifted the veil of mystery, calling it a "significant evolution."
It is not Siege 2, and it’s not just another update. It’s a major evolution.
We’re expanding and reinforcing the very foundation of Siege to ensure it remaisn the pinnacle of tactical PvP first-person shooters.
This means major graphical and audio upgrades, refined game-feel, and new ways to enjoy the game, all while staying true to what makes the core of Siege so special.
Besides, it was mentioned that the developers have been working on Siege X and a multitude of improvements that the update will introduce for the last 3 years. Ubisoft also revealed that the press and developers have already received early access to the update, and in the materials shown by the company, they were impressed with the changes.
Alongside Siege X at the Six Invitational, we also got news of a new season of Rainbow Six: Siege competitions, titled "Preparation Phase." The season will hit the servers in March, and below you can watch the official trailer.
