Anyone with a Windows, Linux or MacOS can contribute to the invention of the cure for COVID-19, all thanks to the Folding@home application developed by Stanford University.

Nvidia has posted an appeal on Twitter to encourage players to use Folding@home. This is an online project launched in 2000 by Stanford University to find effective ways to combat incurable diseases - all by harnessing the processing power of a network of computers owned by volunteers from around the world. Among the illnesses examined by Folding@home is the novel coronavirus that is wreaking havoc around the world.
It's very easy to take part in the program. Just download Folding@home app from this website, install it and run it. When the program asks us about your preferred illness, select "Any Disease". (the coronavirus is now top priority). The data thus obtained will be transferred to laboratories around the world in open cooperation, giving scientists new tools to fight the disease.
Folding@home runs on the computer with the lowest possible priority, using only unused resources. The program doesn't interfere with everyday work, we can also turn it off at any time (the next time you run the application will continue from the moment it was last run). Folding@home has only one disadvantage: a PC with the program on is still running at full power, so it consumes more power. The application is available on Windows, Linux and MacOS.
