What is War Robots: Frontiers?
War Robots: Frontiers is an online tactical mech shooter where players can pilot mechs in intergalactic battles. The developers assure players that the gameplay is designed to be accessible while offering a lot of depth, helping not only new but also experienced players find their place here.
Start the game by choosing the right machine. A number of pre-built mechs are available, but players are encouraged to become engineers and construct their own mech from scratch, to suit their playstyle and vision.
The number of Modules, Pilots, Gear, weapons, and other customizations available allow for over 5 million potential builds. The machine you create, created from over 115 Modules, is equipped with a weapon chosen from a huge arsenal. You can also assign a Pilot with specialized skills.
Each mech has a different class characterized by its fighting style. At launch, players have access to eighteen of them. Here are a few examples:
- Varangian (Flanker) - A powerful warrior that inflicts significant damage and is able to survive retaliatory fire thanks to its Energy Dome.
- Ravana (Defender) - Protects itself and allies to establish a line of defense against enemies.
- Typhon (Tactician) - Can deal damage from a long distance, and also has equipment that can block the enemy's weapon.
- Fenrir (Assault) - Good for medium and short range combat. Gets right into the center of battle, retreats, and regenerates. Its equipment allows it to burn armor in exchange for greater speed and damage.
This also includes Mixed classes, constructed from various different Modules, as well as a Titan, a powerful and ultimate mech unlocked by achieving certain objectives during combat. Each mech has been designed in such a way that players can feel its immense weight and power to provide the best immersion possible.
On the battlefield, players work together with their squad to eliminate opposing machines. Fights in War Robots: Frontiers are full of explosions, which might also destroy parts of the environment. The tactical aspect is crucial here, as the terrain can be used to players’ advantage, perhaps as cover to attack enemies from the flank.

Four diverse maps
War Robots: Frontiers offers four detailed maps at launch, designed for tactical battles and featuring day and night cycles:
- Terminus - A frozen asteroid with a spaceport and cargo, full of dense tunnels and open avenues. The energy barriers found on the map block projectiles, but can be passed through by Robots, providing an opportunity for clever tactics.
- Fissure - A huge refinery located in a snowy area. A treacherous and hilly area, perfectly suited for snipers, supporting the mechs fighting at the refinery. Numerous elevators will help us move around the map.
- Spectrum - A secret research base that is a place of almost constant conflict. Ideal terrain for mid- or close-range combat, with many safe points and open paths.
- Catalyst - A volcanic locale with a geothermal power plant located inside. The battles are fought far from the lava, and the infrastructure allows for climbing to vantage points to seize the high ground.

Three game modes
Players will be able to test themselves in three game modes. The first one is Warp Rush, which involves taking over Warp Gates, which can then be used as respawn points. The team that achieves a specific goal or defeats all enemy robots wins.
The second mode is Last Robot Standing, where both teams aim to destroy all opposing machines. Respawning is limited only to the starting point, but over time, additional locations can be used to respawn closer to the battlefields.
The last mode is the classic Team Deathmatch, where players gain points by destroying enemy machines - and the team that scores 30 eliminations wins. The fun is enhanced by power-ups appearing on the map, providing greater damage or shortened cooldowns.

If you’re a mech fan or interested in a new experience, you can download War Robots: Frontiers for free on PC on Steam or the official game website. Console players can download the game from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store.
