The GTA Online profile is not eligible for migration? Transfer issues explained
Check whether you're experiencing connection issues or if your GTA Online account isn't eligible for transfer to GTA 5 Enhanced on PC.

GTA 5 Enhanced is finally out on PC, but players are disappointed by the lack of HDR and text chat. Many rushed to transfer their GTA Online character. However, it looks like many are running into a frustrating issue that’s preventing them from making the switch. If you’re wondering what’s going on and why so many people are facing this problem, here’s everything you need to know.

Transferring your character to the Enhanced edition in GTA Online should be pretty straightforward. You can move your profile using either the GTA Online Landing Page or the Pause Menu in GTA 5 Enhanced. So why are some players having a hard time with it?
According to Rockstar’s Q&A, certain accounts aren’t eligible for migration due to a few reasons, including:
- Account suspension and bans – If your account has been flagged, you’re out of luck.
- Illegitimate or insufficient progress – If Rockstar detects anything shady or your progress doesn’t meet their requirements, carrying over to Enhance edition won’t be an option.
- Migration from console to PC is not supported – If you were hoping to bring your console profile over to PC, unfortunately, that’s not possible.
So, while the process should be easy, not everyone is getting a smooth transfer. Even players who believe they meet all the requirements, never used mods, never broke any rules, and should be eligible, are still running into issues when trying to migrate their character.
Just a heads-up, the transfer process might take some time. If it’s dragging on longer than expected, you should get an alert letting you know it’s safe to exit and try again later.
