We Know When Greedfall 2 Will Be Released in Early Access. Devs Explained Their Decision
We have learned when GreedFall 2: The Dying World will be released in early access. A new trailer for this RPG has also been made available.
During today's Nacon Connect stream, upcoming games from the French publisher were showcased. The first one was the long-awaited continuation to Spiders' well-received RPG, titled GreedFall 2: The Dying World. We learned that the game will be released in early access exclusively on Steam this summer.
Below you can watch a new game trailer. While it lacks any gameplay segments, it immerses us in the atmosphere and story of "two." We observe how the (presumably) main character arrives at the continent of Gacane, which is marked by plague and ravaged by war. Together with his companions, he opposes the regime there and tries to face the enormous colossus.
GreedFall 2 - gameplay details
After the trailer presentation, one of the devs commented on GreedFall 2. The sequel will focus much more on exploration than the first installment. The protagonist of the RPG released in 2019, De Sardet, discovered new lands, while the protagonist of GreedFall 2 will traverse the entire continent known to people.
We also learned that the combat in The Dying World will be more tactical. During the fights, the player will take control of four characters at the same time. There will be no shortage of old and new factions, as well as the option to romance allies known from the "first part" - although they may leave the team due to the decisions we make. The developers describe this game as more ambitious than its predecessor.
Game development
During a later stream on Twitch, it was explained why it was decided to release GreedFall 2 in early access. Developers have noticed that in the first installment of the series, players provided a lot of feedback. Therefore, it was decided to improve communication with fans and consider their opinions during the early access stage.
The initial development plan for GreedFall 2 was also shown. Upon its early access release, the game will provide a few opening chapters, areas, and a small number of allies. Later, the developers will be rolling out updates that include new locations, skills, and bug fixes.

We don't know exactly how long GreedFall 2 will spend in Early Access. The full version of the game will be available not only on PC, but also on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
