Would you like to see Deltarune on Xbox? There is hope but don't get too excited.
After testing Chapter 1 and 2 as a demo, Deltarune Chapter 1-4 will be available today. This time, we will have to pay for them. However, it will give as access to the future content, too, as more parts of the story are coming. The game was released on most of the major platforms – PS5, PS4, PC (via Steam), Switch and Switch 2. However, Xbox is not supported. Will it ever be? Some fans still hope that it will be shadow dropped today, and there is a small chance for that, as Toby Fox is known for quick announce and release situations. However, it is unlikely if we look at Undertale case. Nevertheless, the release itself is not impossible.
As of now developers have not announced any plans for Xbox release. However, it does not mean that it will never happen. When we look at Undertale, many people also lost hope that it will be launched on Xbox. Nevertheless, it not only was released but also became a part of Xbox Game Pass. However, we had to wait for a long time.
Undertale was released on September 15, 2015, on PC, and in the following years it was ported to consoles:
The above shows that Xbox is not a priority for Toby Fox. There may be many reasons for that. The most probable is that there is a smaller demand for that port.
While there is a high possibility that the game will be available on Xbox at some point, it will most likely not happen before Chapter 5 release. It may be even available no sooner than after all chapters are ready. Of course, Microsoft may decide to seed up the process, for example by offering this indie developer a deal – Xbox Game Pass is an option. Sadly, in the worst case scenario, we will never see Deltarune on Xbox, but this scenario is the least probable in our opinion.
