Remnant 2: All Archetypes - classes Remnant 2 guide, tips

In Remnant 2, there are archetypes so that players can determine their gameplay style from the very beginning of the game. In our guide, you'll learn about all the available classes at the start.

Last update: 26 July 2023

Archetypes are nothing more than character classes available when creating a hero or heroine. They determine the initial statistics, and thanks to them you will unlock weapons and abilities typical for a given play style. In our Remnant 2 guide, you will find information about all available archetypes.

Gunslinger

This is an archetype characterized by high rate of fire and very high damage. Its perks further enhance the damage dealt, mainly due to faster reloading and weapon switching as well as generating extra ammunition.

  1. Prime Perk - Loaded - when you activate any Gunslinger skill, both equipped weapons reload automatically. You will also gain an infinite supply of ammunition for 15 seconds.
  2. 1 skill - Quick Draw - automatically targets enemies within a range of 25 meters, fires up to 6 revolver shots.
  3. 2 skill - Sidewinder - after activating, your movement and weapon swap speed will increase by 50% for 20 seconds. Moreover, after switching to the second weapon, the first one will reload automatically.
  4. 3 skill - Bulletstorm - traditional firearms become fully automatic. The firing rate increases by 20% and the reloading speed by 50%. Bows and crossbows receive a 50% increase in the projectile speed, and a 25% higher chance of landing a critical hit. This effect lasts for 20 seconds.

Gunslinger also has a unique trait that passively strengthens the character. It is called Ammo Reserves - it increases the extra ammunition. The more trait points you spend on it, the better its effect will be.

If you are the type of player who wants to deal the highest damage possible, likes to shoot with pistols, and doesn't care about ammunition, then Gunslinger is the ideal character for you.

Handler

This class is well balanced in many respects. It is characterized by the ability to summon their faithful dog companion for help. This archetype is worth considering both for solo and coop gameplay.

  1. Prime Perk - Bonded - When your health drops to 0, the dog will try to resurrect you (or another player if you gave such a command and they have a Dragon Heart). If the dog succeeds, the given player will be revived with half of their maximum HP.
  2. 1 skill - Guard Dog - the dog will passively follow the Handler. The animal has a 15% increased Threat, which is an effect that makes opponents more likely to focus their attention on the dog. The damage received by the Handler and the dog is reduced by 20%. By activating the ability, the dog will start howling, which will cause all companions within the range of the ability to receive 15% less damage. The effect lasts 20 seconds.
  3. 2 skill - Support Dog - the dog passively heals all players within a range of 3.5 meters by 0.25% of their maximum HP every second. The dog's howl will cause you to regenerate 2% HP per second and your movement speed will be increased by 25% for 20 seconds.
  4. 3 skill - Attack Dog - the companion dog gains 20% more damage. His howl will cause players within a range of 20 meters to also deal increased damage of the same value. The effect lasts 20 seconds.

Handler also has a unique trait, which passively strengthens the character. It's called Kinship - it reduces friendly fire damage. The more trait points you spend on it, the better its effect will be.

The Handler is an archetype focused on buffing and supporting their team in various ways. It may be suitable for both coop and solo modes, as an additional ally is always a good thing.

Challenger

An archetype focusing mainly on close-combat. It uses heavy armor and melee weapons. Challenger can activate berserker mode, which won't let them die quickly.

  1. Prime Perk - Die Hard - when your character is about to die, for 5 seconds they are immune to any damage, and in addition, they restore 100% of their maximum health. This effect can be activated once every 10 minutes.
  2. 1 skill - War Stomp - generates a powerful shockwave that deals damage and staggers characters within in a cone that is 7.5 m long. This ability has two charges.
  3. 2 Skill - Juggernaut - upon activation, you will receive Bulwark L3 status. The movement and melee attack speed will increase by 15%. Moreover, attacks with the melee weapons will deal 50% more damage. Staggering your character will become more difficult. The effect lasts 25 seconds.
  4. 3 skill - Rampage - fire rate is increased by 15%, reload weapons faster by 20%, and the movement speed is increased by 10%. The effect lasts 20 seconds. Furthermore, dealing large damage to enemies will earn you 1 rage charge (up to 10), each of which grants +5% to ranged damage. At maximum value, you activate berserker mode, causing you to automatically reload your current weapon and double the stats obtained from the Rampage skill.

Challenger also has a unique trait that passively buffs the character. It's called Strong Back - it reduces the character's load. The more trait points you spend on it, the better its effect will be.

Challenger is the perfect class for players who like to feel unstoppable and prefer close-range combat. If you want an archetype that will get you out of trouble even in the most dangerous situations, this character will be perfect for you.

Medic

This archetype supports and heals both themselves and allies. However, this does not mean that this character deals low damage. Below are the specific skills and unique features of this class:

  1. Prime Perk - Regenerator - after regaining a total of 350 health points for anyone, you will gain a Relic Charge. Resting or respawning at a Worldstone resets healing accumulation. Moreover, each player summoned for help increases the requirement by 50%.
  2. 1 skill - Wellspring - hit the ground to create a field with a diameter of 3 meters, which restores 10.5 HP per second to all inside it.
  3. 2 skill - Healing Shield - when activated, you give all players within 20 meters a shield worth 100% of their maximum health. This effect lasts 10 seconds. Moreover, if anyone has a shield, allies regenerate 30% of maximum health while this ability is active.
  4. 3 skill - Redemption - the medic releases a shock wave with a range of 30 meters, which revives fallen allies and restores their health to a maximum of 75% for 10 seconds. Every extra second of charging this skill increases healing by another 75% (up to a maximum of 300%). Revived players will only regain 25% of the healing value. Furthermore, Redemption will not revive allies previously saved by this ability for the next 150 seconds.

Medic also has a unique trait that passively buffs the character. It's called Triage - it enhances the healing effect. The more trait points you spend on it, the better its effect will be.

Medic is probably one of the most appreciated classes in Remnant 2. The ability to heal, grant shields, and even revive other players from a distance makes the skills of this archetype very necessary both when exploring the game world and fighitng bosses.

Hunter

Players who appreciate long-range combat will certainly be interested in the Hunter archetype. It focuses on eliminating the threat from a safe distance, aiming at the enemy's weak points. However, the most important thing is that this class has a unique passive trait. The chance of dealing a critical hit to marked enemies increases by 15% for the Hunter and all allies. Moreover, opponents who are close to Hunter will be visible even through walls.

  1. Prime Perk - Dead To Rights - if you have dealt at least 55 damage to the enemy's weak point, you will extend your active skills by 3.5 seconds.
  2. 1 skill - Hunter's Mark - after activating the skill, you mark all enemies within a range of 35 meters. Moreover, Hunter deals 15% more damage with ranged and melee weapons. Lasts 25 seconds.
  3. 2 skill - Hunter's Focus- if you aim at an opponent for 0.01 second, you mark it. If you do that for a second, you enter a state of concentration, which reduces weapon recoil and sway by 75%, deal 25% more damage with ranged weapons (also to weak points), and you gain a 10% increased chance of landing a critical hit. Lasts 20 seconds.
  4. 3 skill - Hunter's Shroud - Hunter is covered in a shroud which reduces the chance of being detection. By attacking or using a Weapon Mod, you will exit this state. If this happens, you mark all enemies within a range of 10 meters and gain the Ambush status for 2 seconds. It causes both ranged and melee attacks to deal 50% more damage. If you do not undertake any offensive action for 1.15 seconds, you will again cover yourself in a veil.

Hunter also has a unique trait that passively buffs the character. It's called Longshot - it increases the ideal range of the weapon by several more meters. The more trait points you spend on it, the better its effect will be.

If you like to play as a sniper, keeping a safe distance to take a shot, then Hunter will be perfect for you. It deals a lot of damage and rewards those who focus on attacking enemies' weak points.
