Root Nexus appears after you beat another boss in the Yaesha region and move a bit further. You'll find it in the Faithless Thicket. This page of our guide explains how to beat it and what the loot is.
Root Nexus - boss description
Root Nexus is essentially a construct with a boss healthbar. It has a ton of health but doesn't pose any threat on its own. With no attacks of any kind, it seems defenseless. Unfortunately, it is not, as it can summon lots of reinforcements.
List of moves
- Reinforcements - this is the boss' only move. It uses it the moment it drops to a specific health percentage. It will start bellowing, spawning other enemies.
How to fight Root Nexus?
This is a very simple fight. You must destroy the Root Nexus to win. Though it's defenseless on its own, someone else will do the defending for it. Do not attack the boss exclusively. The moment its health drops by about a quarter, it will start summoning minions.
Prioritize them. There's no point in focusing on the Root Nexus. Firstly, you'll quickly waste all of your ammo. This construct is very durable and has tons of health. Secondly, eventually the sheer number of enemies it spawns will overwhelm you.
Treat this boss fight as a four-stage horde battle against several enemy waves. After defeating the first wave, collect the ammo dropped by killed enemies, heal up and start attacking the boss again. You'll need to repeat this about four times.
Rewards
Defeating the Root Nexus rewards you with:
- Trait Blood Bond,
- Hallowed Egg amulet (if you enter the Root Nexus),
- Scrap x100.
