Resident Evil Village: Slimy Substance Barrier - how to destroy?

This page of the Resident Evil Village guide explains how to destroy Slimy Substance Barriers. These are obstacles that will first appear during the Reservoir exploration.

An example of a Slimy Substance Barrier is shown in the attached image. The first time you come across them is when you head to the Reservoir, the part of the world map where the Moreau boss resides.

The slimy barriers are vulnerable to all types of attacks. We suggest one of two possible solutions:

1. If you need to destroy the barrier as fast as possible (because you are, for example, being chased by Moreau or another strong monster), use a shotgun to deal with it quickly.
2. If you are not under time pressure, you can destroy barriers using a pistol or even a standard knife. It will take a little longer, of course, but the advantage of this method is that you won't use up valuable ammunition for better weapons.
