It is obvious that a couple can have a baby but you need to try first. Put Sims' bed in such way that they can relax. When choose the option "try for a baby" [209]. You will hear a melody from a crib when the attempt is successful. If Sim is not pregnant, try again. When she is pregnant, she will be in a really strange mood fro few days [210], she will also go to the toilet few times to throw up.

Future father can influence the mother's mood in a positive way [211]. When it's time for labour, go straight to hospital [212].

Having a baby

Labour will take a while [213], and when little Sim is born, you can choose him or her a name. If you took good care of female Sim, you are allowed to choose one trait of your baby - one will be automatically inherited after parents [214].

Little Sim needs a cot. Take care of him or her by changing diapers, feeding and cuddling [215] etc. You can't control the baby - you can do it with the parents' help. When he or she is older teach him/her to walk, use the toilet (buy chamber pot) and talk and spend time with him/her [216].

Child (who you can control) learns much by playing [217]. It is worth buying toys which teach creativity, logic etc. [218], and the skills he or she acquires will be presented in a skill register when he or she grows up.

Then it's time for school [219] and homework which should be done in a systematic way [220].

If you treat Sim well, you will be able to choose further traits [221]. Toddler possesses only two traits, child three and teen four while young adult possesses all five traits. In the future you can choose life aim for him/her [222] but the possible options will depend on the skill you have developed in the child.
