A prosperous cult must have its own laws and rules to guide its members. On this page of the Cult of the Lamb game guide we have included information about the available Doctrines, as well as ways to unlock them.

This page of the game guide lists all the doctrines that are possible to introduce in Cult of the Lamb. We also described how to unlock them and advise on which are the best.

How to establish Doctrines?

Doctrines are special laws that will apply to members of your cult. To establish them, you must first build a Temple. You will gain access to the temple construction after unlocking the upgrade indicated in the above image on the Divine Inspiration tree.

You need Commendamend Stone to implement the doctrine. You can find fragments of such boards in the following ways:

  1. Defeating mini-bosses during crusades.
  2. Finding during random events.
  3. By buying from merchants in the game world.
  4. Increasing the level of followers.

The last option is the most cost-effective, as it usually costs nothing and only requires spending time talking to Followers regularly, using Gift, Blessing, or Inspire options.

To establish a doctrine, select Crown from the Temple menu and then the category you want to develop. You can choose between the two available doctrines at each level, but remember that choosing one will forever block access to the other.

The doctrines are divided into 5 groups:

  1. Sustenance - relate to the needs of hunger.
  2. Possessions - relate to money and buildings.
  3. Law and Order - related to the devotion of followers.
  4. Work and Workship - relates to general work performed by the faithful.
  5. Afterlife - relates to behavior in relation to death.

Sustenance

Level 1 - Cult of the Lamb: All Doctrines - Basics - Cult of the Lamb Guide

Level 1:

  1. Ritual Fast - unlocks access to a ritual that will keep Followers fasting for 3 days. During this time, the faithful do not experience hunger.
  2. Feasting Ritual - unlocks access to the ritual in which you will hold a feast. The faithful will receive 25 Faith and eat to their heart's content.

Level 2:

  1. Cannibal Trait - All the faithful receive 5 Faith after eating a meal prepared with Follower's Meat.
  2. Grass Eater Trait - this feature nullifies the negative effects that food prepared with Grass might have caused so far. Since grass is widely available, it is worth choosing this doctrine. It will make it easier for you to feed your subjects in the later stages of the game.

Level 3:

  1. Ritual of the Harvest - unlocks the ritual by which all plants planted in the beds instantly ripen. Useful only if you rely heavily on growing plants.
  2. Ritual of the Ocean's Bounty - unlocks access to a ritual that makes it much easier to catch rare fish for 2 days. In addition, the number of fish obtained is doubled. Definitely a more useful feature than Ritual of the Harvest.

Level 4:

  1. Substances Encouraged - at the time of the Brainwashing Ritual, all cult members receive 20 Faith.
  2. Belief in Prohibition Trait -After performing Brainwashing Ritual, all members work and generate Devotion points 10% faster, but there is a 50% chance that they will get sick.

Possessions

Level 1:

  1. Extort Tithes - unlocks an action with which you can acquire 1 coin from a follower per day.
  2. Bribe Follower - allows you to spend 3 coins to increase a follower's Loyalty by several points.

Level 2:

  1. Belief in Materialism Trait - All faithful receive Faith points after upgrading sleeping structures.
  2. Belief in False Idols Trait - this feature increases the number of Faith points acquired when putting up decorations in the camp.

Level 3:

  1. Alms for the Poor - unlocks a ritual during which you distribute money to the faithful while increasing their Loyality and gaining 10 Faith.
  2. Ritual of Enrichment - You will gain access to a ritual in which each believer will donate quite a large number of coins to you. This choice is a great way to get money quickly.

Level 4:

  1. Sacral Architecture - After each building is built, you will receive 5 Faith.
  2. Devotee Trait - receive more Faith points after conducting a Sermon.

Law and Order

Level 1:

  1. Murder Follower - unlocks the action of killing a faithful. This is useful when one ward rebels the rest, but it should be remembered that such an action may meet with displeasure from the rest of the cult members.
  2. Ascend Follower Ritual - unlocks a ritual with which you can elevate a believer to the land of the gods. As a result, all faithful receive Loyality.

Level 2:

  1. Ritualistic Fight Pit - unlocks access to a ritual in which two faithful face off in battle. After the duel, you can either condemn the loser to death (in which case the winner will receive 50 Loyality) or spare the unfortunate (in which case he will receive 20 Loyality).
  2. Wedding - allows you to perform a wedding ritual with a faithful of your choice. You can marry more than one protégé, although this may lead to disagreements between them.

Level 3:

  1. Belief in Original Sin Trait - nullifies the loss of Faith while placing a ward in prison.
  2. Belief in Absolution Trait - You gain 10 Faith every morning if none of the faithful are in prison. It is a good choice when your gameplay style is more focused on good deeds.

Level 4:

  1. Loyality Enforcer - unlocks a ritual in which you can designate a believer who will periodically increase the Loyality level of the remaining Followers.
  2. Tax Enforcer -allows you to perform a ritual during which you appoint a tax collector. This one will collect money from the rest of the faithful.

Work and Workship

Level 1:

  1. Faithful Trait - Faithful generate Devotion points 15% faster. Useful if you care about unlocking Divine Inspiration upgrades faster.
  2. Industrious Trait - Faithful work 15% faster.

Level 2:

  1. Inspire - replaces Bless action. Significantly increases the Loyality level of the inspired faithful.
  2. Intimidate - slightly increases the Loyality of the protégé and makes it work 10% faster. Replaces Bless action.

Level 3:

  1. The Glory of Construction -unlocks the ritual by which all buildings under construction are instantly built.
  2. Ritual of Enlightenment - gives access to a ritual that causes the generation of Devotion points to accelerate by 20%. It lasts for 3 days. Very useful, especially in maximizing the use of free spaces for praying faithful.

Level 4:

  1. Glory Through Toil Ritual - unlocks a ritual that will make all faithful work continuously for 3 consecutive days and nights, without fatigue.
  2. Holy Day -unlocks access to a ritual announcing free time for the faithful. Faithful will not do any work until the end of the day and you will receive 80 Faith.

Afterlife

Level 1 - Cult of the Lamb: All Doctrines - Basics - Cult of the Lamb Guide

Level 1:

  1. Belief in Sacrifice Trait - You receive 20 Faith when any faithful is sacrificed.
  2. Belief in Afterlife Trait -in the event of the death of any faithful, you lose -5 Faith instead of -20.

Level 2:

  1. Ritual of Resurrection - unlocks a ritual to bring a deceased faithful back to life. Useful if you have lost a Faithful at a higher level. However, it is worth remembering that revived can die again.
  2. Funeral - gives access to the ritual in which the funeral of a deceased faithful is organized. You receive 20 Faith, while the grave of the memorialized Faithful will generate Devotion points from time to time.

Level 3:

  1. Respect Your Elders - All cult members receive 5 Faith for each old faithful (Elder).
  2. Good Die Young - You receive 10 Faith when an Elder is sacrificed, murdered or eaten, but you lose -10 Faith if he dies naturally.

Level 4:

  1. Return to Earth - Unlocks the Natural Burial building. Once it is built, the corpses of the dead go into the ground and can be used as fertilizer.
  2. Grieve the Fallen - Unlocks Grave construction. Every time a faithful despairs at the grave, you gain 2 Faith.
