Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players can enjoy two new game updates. None of them is too big - especially the first one appears to be rather small (25 MB). Nevertheless, one of the changes attracted the attention of the community. Valve has added the "-d3d9ex" option to reduce CPU memory consumption by about 40%. Some Reddit users noted an increase in the speed of animation, although in the opinion of some it concerns mainly weaker hardware configurations. On the other hand, everyone noticed a much faster (almost immediate) switching to the other programs using the Alt Tab combination.
The command should be entered as the launch parameter in the game properties - you will find them after right-clicking on the title in the Steam library. Then click "Set launch options" in the "General" tab, where we add "-d3d9ex".
In addition, the patch in question has introduced a handful of minor but useful improvements. From now on, we can silence the enemy team or all players except friends and members of our team, which many will probably consider a blessing. Additionally, the game allows us to change the displayed nicknames of people from outside our friends list to more "neutral" nicknames, and voting for the next map will take longer. The second update introduced a handful of modifications to the maps (including Abbey and Vertigo), both visual and gameplay related. Full patch notes can be found on the official website of the game.
