10 Most Powerful Game Endings

Sometimes, a poor game with mediocre plot suddenly becomes something amazing. Everything can change with an extraordinary ending. Here are the 10 most powerful ones!

"I held John's hand while he was drowning" - Heavy Rain

  1. Release date: 2010
  2. Genre: TPP adventure game
  3. Metacritic score: 78/100 (reviewers), 7.9/10 (players)

The inclusion of Heavy Rain on this list may seem a bit controversial, because the characteristic narrative method used in the works of Quantic Dream has both its supporters and critics. However, in the age of PS3 and the year 2010, the story told in Heavy Rain was significant in its own way and made a lot of waves. First of all, we were given a game, in which it was possible to lead the action in many different ways. This in effect could lead to the death (or survival) of a large number of characters.

Apart from these minor differences, the most important part of the ending was of course the discovery of the identity of the Origami Killer, around which one of the main themes of the game revolved. The developers, on the one hand, surprised us, on the other, not really. Some people were surely surprised to see that the murderer is a character who shows up on the screen every now and then and generally stands on the "Light side of the Force", while others reportedly suspected it much earlier. Whatever our stance, however, one has to admit that Heavy Rain has undoubtedly found its place in the annals of digital entertainment as one of the most important games in history.
